 <title>New Christmas Carol Setting</title>
 <link>http://www.musicaanglicana.org.uk/php/generic-cat-page.php?item_ref=CL/10</link>
 <description>
A setting composed by Phil Hughes, October 2006, to traditional Nahum Tate's words
"While Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night" for SATB choir and organ or piano. The full score is currently
in proof, and will soon be available for free download (until 1/1/2007). This is a more energetic version of
the well-known carol which, perhaps to many, has become a bit boring in its old hymn arrangement. In this
setting I've used a completely new tune set against a rhythmic background. I hope this will add something
new to the Carol Service this Christmas.
Like all the pieces on MusicaAnglicana.org.uk, the audio (compressed mp3) is synthesised (using Sibelius). Hopefully, it does give an good indication of the sound and feel of the piece.

 <title>New Introit for Trinity - Holy Holy Holy</title>
 <link>http://www.musicaanglicana.org.uk/php/generic-cat-page.php?item_ref=SA/8</link>
 <description>
Added by Phil Hughes, 15th June 2006.
A bit late for Trinity Sunday, this is a short introit based on the old German hymn
&quot;Holy Holy Holy&quot;. In terms of style, its a simple 4 part harmonisation with
little counterpoint. However, its sound is built upon 2nds and will hopefully be enjoyable to learn and
rewarding to perform for both choir and congregation. It's available for
listening and free score download. Please let me know what you think.

 <title>New Anthem</title>
 <link>http://www.musicaanglicana.org.uk/php/generic-cat-page.php?item_ref=LA/4</link>
 <description>
Added by Phil Hughes, 9th June 2006.
During Easter I was inspired by a short motif which appears in the opening (and throughout) this piece
setting the great hymn of Isaac Watts - &quot;When I survey the Wondrous Cross&quot; - for SATB choir and organ
obligato. The choral parts are straightforward with the organ part being a bit more difficult.
 It's available for listening and free score download. Please let me know what you think.

 <title>New Four Part Processional Anthem for Ascensiontide</title>
 <link>http://www.musicaanglicana.org.uk/php/generic-cat-page.php?item_ref=LA/6</link>
 <description>
Added by Phil Hughes, 13th May 2006.
This processional anthem scored for SATB choir, organ and percussion (drum) has been
written for Ascensiontide. The piece starts quietly, but dramatically with a simple
drum beat and builds to a tutti climax. The setting is the well-loved hymn &quot;Alleluia Sing
to Jesus!&quot;.
Please let me know what you think.
